Box Score The Cloud County Community College men's basketball team snapped its seven-game losing streak on Saturday, January 18, beating Pratt 84-74 inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
The T-Birds won their first conference game since November 30, 2024 to improve their record to 10-8 overall and 4-8 in KJCCC action.
Three T-Birds finished in double-figures, led by freshman guard
Syncere Burnette's 19 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. Burnette went 3-of-4 from three-point range and currently has the best three-point shooting percentage in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference at 48.5 percent. Burnette also collected five rebounds, four assists and two steals in the win.
Redshirt freshman guard
Keyon Garrett-Miller scored 18 points. He shot 6-of-9 overall and 6-of-7 from the foul line.
With 15 points and 12Â rebounds, freshman forward
Elidjah Savane recorded his seventh double-double of the season. Savane has four double-doubles in the team's last five games.
Cloud County fell behind early by six points at 13-7 at the under 16 media timeout. The T-Birds quickly responded with a lengthy 34-11 run, grabbing its biggest advantage of the half at 41-24 on a fast break layup by Burnette with 2:49 remaining. The T-Birds took a 43-31 lead into halftime.
Cloud County pushed its lead to 21 points on a three-pointer by freshman
Dejuan Graise with 9:31 to go. The T-Birds maintained a double-digit lead throughout the entire second-half.
Cloud County shot 57.7 percent from the floor in the second-half, ending the game shooting 31-of-60 (51.7 percent) overall with nine made three-pointers.
Sophomore
Fallou Koite came off the bench to score nine points and record three blocked shots. Freshman guard
Kuel Akot had seven points. Redshirt freshman
Matthew Garber poured in two three-pointers to finish with six points and five rebounds. Graise contributed five points, three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore
Roy Aviv added three points, while freshman
Takeo Moore had two points and two rebounds.
The T-Birds outscored the Beavers 32-6 in points off the bench, and 20-11 in points off turnovers.
Cloud County will face Seward County Community College next on Wednesday, January 22 at 8 pm. The T-Birds picked up a 74-69 overtime win over the Saints on November 20, 2024.
