The Cloud County Community College volleyball team is set to host Dodge City Community College on Wednesday, September 11 at 6:30 pm at Arley Bryant Gymnasium. This match will be livestreamed on the
T-Bird Sports Network. Fans can also follow along via the Cloud County Athletic Department's social media platforms.
The Cloud County Community College Athletic Department is also inviting active First Responders as well as Active, Reserve, Veterans and Retired U.S. Military personnel to be our guest for the match. The T-Birds are honoring those who protect the community by offering them free admission to the contest.
The T-Birds are coming off a four-set loss to McPherson College JV (20-25, 25-23, 17-25, 24-26) in their home opener on Monday, September 9. The loss brings Cloud County's record to 3-8 overall.
Cloud County's offense was paced by sophomore
Bradie Medina, who finished with 13 kills on the night. Medina also added a team-high 20 digs and two block assists. Sophomore
Emery May chipped in seven kills and six block assists. Freshman
Carlie Carlgren posted six kills, 10 digs and four block assists. Sophomore
Kloë Waymel collected two solo blocks and six block assists to go along with four kills and seven digs. Sophomore
Ashley Suter claimed 21 assists, six digs and four block assists. Freshman
Savana Krupicka dished out six assists. Defensively, freshman
Berkleigh Curtis had 12 digs.
Dodge City (8-6, 1-0 KJCCC) is coming off three wins in the Odessa College Invitational in Odessa, Texas last weekend. The Conquistadors opened the tournament with a four-set loss to No. 17 Navarro (19-25, 24-26, 25-18, 21-25) before earning wins over Temple College (25-17, 25-23, 25-19), Central Arizona (25-23, 25-19, 25-18), and No. 14 New Mexico Junior College (25-23, 25-19, 29-31, 25-21).
Last year, Cloud County won both matches in the season series with Dodge City. The T-Birds nabbed a four-set victory in Dodge City on September 15 (19-25, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25), and later scored a five-set victory at home on October 18 (25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 11-15).
