The Cloud County Community College women's basketball team is back at home to face the Barton Cougars on Tuesday, November 26 inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
Tipoff is set for 6 pm. The game will be streamed on the
T-Bird Sports Network with Spencer Farha on the call. Fans can also listen to the game on 1390 KNCK & 98.3 FMÂ with Austin McNorton calling the action.
Cloud County dropped to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play after suffering a 77-53 defeat at No. 9 Dodge City on November 23. The Conquistadors have now won seven straight against the T-Birds dating back to 2022.
Barton started the season 4-2 but has since dropped its last two games, both of them in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference action. The Cougars opened conference play with a 59-43 home loss to No. 1 Hutchinson on November 20. Barton then fell at Garden City on November 23, 83-58.Â
Cloud County heads into the matchup in search of its first win against the Cougars since 2019. Barton holds a ten-game winning streak over the T-Birds and has swept the season series in each of the past five seasons. Cloud County's last win over Barton came on January 9, 2019 when the T-Birds won at home, 80-68.
Cloud County is led in scoring this season by freshman guard
Bre Frazier. Frazier is averaging 11.7 points per game. Frazier currently leads the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference in free-throw percentage at 90.3 percent. Frazier is 28-of-31 from the line this season, including a perfect 16-of-16 from the stripe over the team's last six games.
After scoring 10 points at Dodge City on November 23, sophomore guard
TiAna Davis has now scored in double-figures in six of Cloud County's seven games this season. Davis is averaging 11.3 points per game and 2.9 assists per game. Davis also leads the team with 11 three-pointers on the season.
Freshman forward
Talasia Thomas is averaging 11.0 points per game on 45.6 percent shooting with 6.3 rebounds per game so far. Thomas ranks second in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference in blocked shots at 1.6 blocks per game. Thomas also ranks seventh in the conference in steals at 2.7 steals per game.
Freshman forward
Shea Wurtz leads the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference in field-goal percentage at 62.8 percent. Off the bench, Wurtz is averaging 9.7 points per game and a team-leading 6.6 rebounds per game. Wurtz has recorded at least eight rebounds in four games this season.
Freshman forward
Lilliana Petersen is averaging 9.1 points per game and 4.4 rebounds per game. Petersen ranks third in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference in blocked shots at 1.4 blocks per game. Petersen is also shooting 75 percent from the free-throw line.
Freshman guard
DaNae Crosby has started five of seven games for Cloud County this season. The freshman from Little Elm, Texas leads the team with 3.4 assists per game, which ranks eighth overall in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Crosby is also averaging 5.0 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game.
