The Cloud County Community College volleyball team is set to take on No. 8 Colby inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium to kick off the second leg of Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play.
Cloud County (5-14, 0-8 KJCCC) comes into the second half of the conference schedule after suffering a loss to No. 5 Barton in Great Bend.
Colby (17-2, 7-1 KJCCC) posts a perfect 6-0 record on the road this season. The Trojans come into this weekend's match winners of 13 of their last 14. Colby has swept five of their eight conference matches this year, with their only conference loss coming at home to Barton on September 23.
This Saturday's match will mark the second meeting on the volleyball court this season between the Trojans and the T-Birds. Colby won the first meeting on September 4 in Colby, 13-25, 16-25, 20-25. Colby has won four of their last five meetings with the T-Birds.
Heading into the final half of conference play, Cloud County ranks first in the conference in digs per set (19.24), sixth in kills per set (10.46), sixth in assists per set (9.38), and seventh in points per set (13.8). The Cloud County offense is led by sophomore
Bradie Medina, who is averaging 3.15 kills per set to sit at fourth in the conference. Medina also leads the team on the defensive end, averaging 4.29 digs per set. Freshman setter
Maria Clara Lopes Miranda checks in at seventh in the conference in assists per set at 5.47, while sophomore
Kloë Waymel is fourth in the conference with 34 service aces.
First serve for Saturday's match is set for 3 pm and the game will be streamed on the
