The Cloud County Community College volleyball team will venture to Pratt, Kansas on Wednesday, October 30 for a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference match against the Pratt Beavers. The contest will be the final regular season road match for the T-Birds in 2024. First serve is set for 6:30 pm from the Dennis Lesh Sports Arena.
Cloud County (7-21, 0-14 KJCCC) enters the match following a 3-0 sweep of Kansas Wesleyan JV in a non-conference road match in Salina, Kansas on October 28. The T-Birds won the match by set scores of 26-24, 25-22, 25-19. Freshman
Grace Rowland led Cloud County with a team-high 19 kills. Sophomore
Bradie Medina posted six kills, a team-high 12 digs and two block assists. Sophomore
Emery May tallied five kills, four digs and five blocks, including one solo stuff. Freshman
Carlie Carlgren also had five kills and three block assists. Freshman
Maria Clara Lopes Miranda recorded 27 assists and six digs. Freshman
Savana Krupicka posted five assists. Freshman
Beatrice Giusti registered double-digit digs with 11. Freshman
Berkleigh Curtis and sophomore
Kloë Waymel finished with five digs each.
Pratt (6-22, 2-12 KJCCC) enters Wednesday's match having lost eight of their last ten matches, including seven consecutive losses. Pratt's last win was a four-set home victory over Seminole State College on October 7. Since then, the Beavers were swept in non-conference play by McPherson College JV before dropping conference matches to Barton, Colby, Dodge City, Garden City, Hutchinson and Seward County. Pratt has only claimed one set in its last seven matches, and the team has been swept 13 times this season.
Pratt snapped a nine match losing streak to Cloud County earlier this year when they defeated the T-Birds in Concordia on September 28 in four sets, 24-26, 23-25, 27-25, 20-25. Prior to that loss, Cloud County had won 17 of its last 18 matches against the Beavers.
