The Cloud County Community College volleyball team will take on the Garden City Broncbusters on Wednesday, October 16 inside Conestoga Arena in Garden City. First serve is slated for 5:30 pm.
Cloud County (5-17, 0-11 KJCCC) comes into the match following a three-set road loss to Dodge City this past Saturday, 25-13, 25-19, 26-24. The T-Birds had 28 kills in the three sets with sophomores
Bradie Medina (11 kills) and
Emery May (7 kills) leading the way. Freshman
Savana Krupicka handed out 22 assists, while Medina (16 digs) and freshman
Beatrice Giusti (12 digs) led the defensive effort. Cloud County is 0-8 in true road games this season.
Garden City (10-9, 4-6 KJCCC) comes into Wednesday's match after dropping four of their last five contests, including back-to-back conference matches. After picking up a five-set home victory over Seward County on October 2, the Broncbusters lost in four sets at home to Dodge City on October 5 before being swept by the Hutchinson Blue Dragons in Hutchinson on October 14. Garden City is 4-4 at home this season and 2-2 at home in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference play.
Garden City has taken its last five matches against the T-Birds. Most recently, the Broncbusters topped Cloud County in a sweep on September 14. Cloud County's last win against Garden City came on October 13, 2021 when the T-Birds won a five-set thriller, 23-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19, 18-16.
