The Cloud County Community College volleyball team is set to take on the Dodge City Conquistadors Saturday, October 12 at 6:30 pm inside The Dome in Dodge City.
Cloud County comes into the match fresh off a four set home loss to Seward County on October 9. The T-Birds won the first set, 25-23, before dropping the next three sets, 18-25, 22-25, 21-25. In conference play, Cloud County has lost ten sets by four points or less.
Sophomore
Bradie Medina led the T-Birds in the loss to the Saints, finishing with 18 kills and 16 digs. Freshman
Grace Rowland posted 14 kills, six digs and one block assist. SophomoreÂ
Kloë Waymel chipped in four kills and five digs. Sophomore
Emery May notched three kills, four digs and a team-high five blocks. Freshmen
Carlie Carlgren and
Savana Krupicka also had three kills each. Krupicka also tallied a team-high 20 assists. Freshman
Maria Clara Lopes Miranda added 13 assists. Defensively, freshman
Beatrice Giusti had a team-high 23 digs. Sophomore
Ashley Suter provided six digs, while freshman
Berkleigh Curtis finished with four digs.
Dodge City comes into the weekend having won four matches in a row, and six of their last eight. The Conquistadors picked up a five-set home win over Hutchinson on October 9. Dodge City dropped the first two sets but responded by winning the next three sets to win the match, 18-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 15-7.
Dodge City has won seven of the last nine match ups with the T-Birds, including a 3-0 victory over Cloud County on September 11, 2024. Cloud County swept the regular season series in 2023.
