Box Score CONCORDIA, Kan. – Getting to entertain their home crowd after four matches on the road to open the season, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would use a big offensive night from sophomore
Doga Eski to lead to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 three-set sweep of McPherson College JV inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium on Tuesday, August 22nd.
The win moves CCCC to 4-1 overall on the year with all four victories coming by sweep.
Eski would lead all players in the match by recording a career-best 20 kills while committing just one attack error on 30 total attempts for a .633 attack percentage. As a team, the T-Birds would commit just 13 total attack errors which would be offset by six total blocks and six service aces. Four different players would record two blocks each with
Emery May, Eski, and
Jacey Schurle all providing two assisted blocks while
Bradie Medina would account for Cloud County's lone solo block of the evening along with one assisted block.
Other statistical leaders for the T-Birds on Tuesday would see
Brette Doile and
Ashley Suter split time at setter to combine for 30 of the 34 assists recorded with Doile providing 18 and Suter having 12. Leading Cloud County in digs was
Madelynn Wells with 16 with Medina adding 11 to join the sophomore in double figures.
What's Next?
Another trip north up to Nebraska will provide Cloud County with a four-match weekend at the Northeast Community College Mariott Invitational in Norfolk, Nebraska. The first two matches of the weekend will come on Friday, August 25th when CCCC plays Western Iowa Technical College at 2 PM before taking on McCook Community College at 4 PM. Cloud County will also have matches at 9 AM and 1 PM on Saturday, playing Mount Marty JV and host Northeast inside the Cox Activities Center.
