Two schedule changes affecting the Cloud County Community College women's basketball and baseball teams have been announced by the Cloud County Community College Athletic Department regarding upcoming contests scheduled for this week.
Wednesday's Cloud County women's basketball game at Colby Community College has been declared a no-contest by the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference as recent injuries have left the Trojan women's basketball team unable to field the minimum number of players required to start the game (five). The game will not have any effect on Cloud County's overall record but will be deemed a forfeit by Colby for the KJCCC standings and upcoming NJCAA Region VI Tournament seeding purposes as the T-Birds will now enter postseason play with a 16-13 overall record and 12-12 mark in the KJCCC. The CCCC women will host a first-round NJCAA Region VI Tournament game on Saturday, March 4th at 2 PM as the T-Birds will be either the number six or seven seed once seeds are finalized with an opponent for Saturday's contest yet to be determined.
For the Cloud County baseball team, forecasted inclement has forced a change in dates for the upcoming CCCC home baseball doubleheader with number 12 nationally-ranked Johnson County Community College. Originally scheduled for Thursday, March 2nd at 1 PM, the T-Birds and Cavaliers will now begin their four-game series on Friday, March 3rd at 1 PM at Lee Doyen Field before seeing the series shift to Overland Park for a 1 PM doubleheader on Saturday, March 4th.
If any additional changes to the Cloud County athletics schedule occur throughout the semester, all changes will be announced as they occur on the Cloud County athletics website (
www.cloudtbirds.com) along with the Cloud County Athletic social media pages on Facebook (
facebook.com/cloudtbirds) and Twitter (
