#24 Men's Basketball Goes On Road To Win At Coffeyville 63-43 Tuesday Evening

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. – Putting the nation's number-one scoring defense on display, the number-24 nationally-ranked Cloud County Community College men's basketball team would hold host Coffeyville to their lowest scoring total of the season as part of a 63-43 road victory inside Nellis Hall in Coffeyville, Kansas on Tuesday, November 21st.
 
Running their record to a perfect 7-0 on the year, Cloud County picks up their second Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference win of the year to improve to 2-0 in the KJCCC. Coffeyville gets held 41 points under their season average of 84.4 points per game and falls to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the KJCCC with the defeat.
 
Holding Coffeyville to a 21.3 percent (10-of-47) outing from the floor, the Red Ravens would also have just a five-of-31 (16.1 percent) three-point field shooting night while hitting on 69.2 percent (18-of-26) free throws with the Cloud County defense holding the Red Ravens in check all night long. The T-Birds would finish the game 17-of-46 (37.0 percent) from the field and also have an 80.8 percent (21-of-26) effort at the charity stripe while forcing 18 Coffeyville turnovers that would lead to 19 points on the offensive end.
 
Leading Cloud County offensively would be a 16-point effort from Cheikh Sow ho would hit 50 percent (six-of-12) of his shots from the field and also grab a team-high eight rebounds while both Bol Agu and Ja'ron Briggs Jr. would add 11 points each. Only one player for Coffeyville would reach double-figures, with Cris Carroll scoring a team-high 14 in the loss.
 
What's Next?
The top two teams and lone unbeaten squads in the KJCCC are set to do battle on Saturday, November 25th as eighth-ranked Barton Community College will come to Concordia for a 4 PM tip-off inside Arley Bryant Gymnasium. The Cougars picked up a 96-73 road win at Pratt on Tuesday night to improve to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in the KJCCC. The game will also feature the number one scoring offense in the KJCCC of Barton (92.1 points per game against Cloud County's 52.2 point per game scoring defense which also ranks number one in the KJCCC.
