Box Score 2 HUTCHINSON, Kan. - The first two of four scheduled matches this weekend for the Cloud County Community College volleyball team at the Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragon Classic would lead to a pair of defeats as the T-Birds would be dealt a 3-0 loss to number-17 nationally-ranked Mineral Area College before falling 3-0 to Missouri State University-West Plains inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena on Friday, September 23rd.
With the defeats, CCCC is now 5-9 overall on the season while Mineral Area split their matches on Friday by following up their match with the T-Birds by dropping a four-set decision to Butler Community College. Missouri State-West Plains would also finish the opening day of action with a 1-1 mark as the Grizzlies would drop a five-set decision to eighth-ranked Trinity Valley Community College prior to their win over Cloud County.
What's Next?
Action for CCCC will begin at 9 AM on Saturday from the Hutchinson Sports Arena as the T-Birds will square off with Jefferson College in a match that will feature a pair of teams both seeking their first win of the tournament. Jefferson dropped a five-set decision to number-two nationally-ranked Indian Hills Community College and a four-set decision to 16th-ranked Hutchinson on Friday. Cloud County will then take on Indian Hills who is currently playing their second match of the tournament against number eight Trinity Valley Community College at the time of this release.
