Box Score 2 BEATRICE, Neb. – Strong starts and a potent offensive attack would lead the Cloud County Community College volleyball team to a pair of three-set sweeps against NJCAA Region XI foes Iowa Lakes Community College and Marshalltown Community College to open their season at the Southeast Community College RKP Invitational held inside the Truman Center Gymnasium on Friday, August 19th.
The T-Birds have now won their season-opening match each of the past two regular-season and seven of the past eight seasons while having now won 10 of their last 11 matches played as part of the RKP Invitational at Southeast Community College.
Scores against Iowa Lakes in the 11 AM match were 25-16, 25-6, and 25-15 while the 1 PM matchup with the Tigers of Marshalltown Community College saw scores of 25-6, 25-23, and 25-14.

Doga Eski finish with a team-best 10 kills while
Katelynn Brogan finished with seven kills on 11 attempts and a .545 attack percentage. As a team, Cloud County would record a .361 attack percentage and finish with just nine attack errors compared to 43 kills to go along with seven total blocks. Freshman
Madison Ronnebaum would account for two solo blocks and two assisted blocks for a team-best four blocks on the day while adding two digs in her collegiate debut while McPherson, Kansas native
Brette Doile recorded a team-best 17 set assists. In total, four different players would account for 32 set assists.
Eski would have an even bigger performance against Marshalltown, adding 11 kills to go along with a .476 attack percentage while finishing as the lone T-Bird with double-digit kills while Brogan added nine more kills and hit over .400 for the second-straight match (.412). A balanced defensive effort would see both
Madelynn Wells and
Mariah Janda record team-bests in digs with eight while Doile would once again lead the team in set assists with 13. As a team, Cloud County would finish with 14 blocks in the match with
Camryn Wessel (two solo, five assisted blocks) leading the way.
What's Next?
Cloud County returns back to Beatrice tomorrow afternoon for two more matches to conclude their opening weekend of competition as CCCC will square off with Coffeyville Community College at 3 PM before playing Central Community College at 5 PM. Over the course of the past three seasons, Cloud County has gone a combined 5-1 against the Red Ravens and Raiders with the lone loss coming at home to Central Community College in five sets last fall.
