Box Score COLUMBUS, Neb. – An opening set win for the Cloud County Community College volleyball team would make way for a pair of set losses to go down two sets to one before rallying back and defeating Central Community College in five sets in non-conference action inside the Raider Fieldhouse in Columbus, Nebraska on Thursday, September 9th.

Snapping a mini two-game skid, the T-Birds picked up win number seven of the season to improve to 7-5 overall while the Raiders drop just their third game of the year to fall to 7-3 overall.

Cloud County would come out and take a 25-17 decision in what would be the biggest scoring margin of the match as Central CC would respond with a pair of 25-19 set victories in both the second and third sets. The T-Birds would then go up big in the fourth set before hanging on to take a 25-18 decision to force a deciding fifth set where a 7-7 tie would make way for Cloud County to score eight of the final 13 points to win their first five-set decision of the year in four attempts.

Offensively, sophomore Geraldyn Palacios would lead Cloud County with 12 kills on the night as part of a .370 attack percentage with just two attack errors on 27 total attempts. Natasha Dooley would fall one kill shy of reaching double-figures to finish with nine kills and a .308 attack percentage while Lakyn Tenbrink would add eight kills for the T-Birds.

A big double-double from Kylie Fuller would see the Minneapolis, Kansas native record 42 set assists to go along with 20 digs as well as two of Cloud County's eight service aces. Mariah Janda would have three total service aces as well as 14 digs while sophomore Michaela Bowers would record a team-high 27 digs. Other defensive statistics would see Palacios (four), Tenbrink (two), and Fuller (two) combine for eight solo blocks while also recording 10 assisted blocks between the trio.
