Box Score FORT SCOTT, Kan. – Looking to pull off their largest upset of the year to keep their season alive, the number 17-ranked Cloud County Community College volleyball team would be unable to take down number three Fort Scott in a three-set loss at the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Plains District B Tournament inside of Arnold Arena on the campus of Fort Scott on Saturday, November 9th.
Cloud County concludes their season with a 23-9 overall record in 2019 while the Greyhounds improved to 29-4 and advance to today's Plains District B Championship match to be played this afternoon.
All three sets in the match would be close as the T-Birds would be unable to overcome a 25-22 opening set loss and 25-19 loss in set to as the Greyhounds would finish off the match with a 26-24 set three win.
Most of the offensive production for CCCC would come from sophomores Dayana Chara (14 kills) and Haven Hamilton (12 kills) as the two would combine to put up 26 of Cloud County's 40 kills in the match. CCCC would be held without a service ace for the first time all year while committing four service errors, along with seven blocks errors in the match. Freshman Riley Bontrager would record a team-best 35 assists in the match while Madi Spencer ended her career as a T-Bird with a team-best 16 digs.
