Box Score DODGE CITY, Kansas- On Wednesday, for the second time in as many weeks, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to steal a road victory as the T-Birds downed Dodge City Community College in five sets: 18-25, 25-21, 18-25, 25-19 and 15-13.
The T-Birds, who accomplished the same feat back on Sept. 19 against Garden City Community College, jumped back to .500 with the win at 10-10 overall, 4-4 KJCCC. Dodge City, which entered the night tied with Cloud County for fifth in the standings, fell to 14-9 overall, 3-5 KJCCC.
Cloud County had a balanced attack Wednesday as four different players finished with double-figures in kills, led by freshman Elizabeth Nobert with 12. Freshman hitter Katelyn Ruth and redshirt freshman Kylie McKinney each tallied 11 kills, while Drew Mann added 10 kills.
Sophomore outside hitter Cara Flach recorded team highs in assists with 28 and with three solo blocks. Fellow sophomore Bailey Lewis had a team-high 15 digs to help lead the defensive effort.
With the win, Cloud County snapped a mini two-match losing streak and improved to 5-1 on the road this season.
The T-Birds continue their current three-match road swing Saturday when they travel to take on Butler Community College. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
