Box Score McCook, NE- The Cloud County Volleyball team opened the 2016 season with a victory over the McCook Indians on Monday night in McCook, Nebraska.
Cloud was without their top returner, Cara Flach, who missed the game due to illness.
The T-Birds took the first set 25-21 before dropping the second set 18-25. The Thunderbirds rallied back to win the third and fourth set 25-20, and 25-23. Cloud broke a 23-23 tie in the 4th set to claim the match victory and move to 1-0 on the season.
Freshman from Clifton-Clyde HS Elizabeth Nobert led Cloud with 11 kills on the night. Christen Greving had 23 assists. Brooke Baird led Cloud with 14 digs.
Cloud will resume action on Wednesday as they jump into conference action at Barton County.
