Cloud Falls to Garden City 75-62

Concordia, KS- The Cloud County Thunderbird men dropped a 75-62 contest to the Garden City Broncbusters on Saturday night in front of a packed house in Arley Bryant Gymnasium. 

The T-Birds made attempts throughout the second half to cut into Garden City's lead but Buster Freshman Josh Fleming had an answer for everything. Fleming had a game high 27 points and kept the T-Birds from making a second half run at the lead. 

Cloud and Garden City battled in the first half. Cloud grabbed a 10-9 lead early on before Garden slowly began to pull away. Garden City got the lead to as much as nine in the first half but Cloud responded and got back withing three on a Demonte Ojinnaka trey just two minutes before half. The Busters added a bucket to take a 34-29 lead into halftime. 

Devonte Dixon hit a three to open the half and get within two at 34-32. Garden then went on a 15-5 run to open it up for good. The Busters were able to counter every punch from the T-Birds down the stretch and Cloud never got closer than seven points. 

Aamahne Santos was held to just six points on 1-7 shooting on the night. The Freshman has led Cloud in conference play in scoring. The Busters bottled him up after Santos scored 21 on them in Garden City on January 30th. 

Demonte Ojinnaka had 15 points to lead Cloud County. He hit 10-12 from the free throw line.

Devonte Dixon scored 14 points including 3 of 4 from long range. 

Jesse Patrick had  9 points off the bench for Cloud County.

The T-Birds will turn around and play Dodge City on Monday night to conclude regular season play. Tip-off between Cloud and Dodge City is set for 8:00 pm in Arley Bryant Gymnasium.
