Box Score

COLBY, Kansas- The schedule hasn't been kind to the Cloud County Community College volleyball team of late. Last Saturday the T-Birds faced Butler Community College, which at the time had won eight of its past nine matches, and fell 3-1.

They followed that up with a trip to Colby Community College on Wednesday for a meeting with the KJCCC leaders, who defeated Cloud County in straight sets: 25-12, 25-22 and 25-12.

The win was the sixth in a row for the Trojans (18-4 overall, 9-1 KJCCC), while the loss dropped the T-Birds to sixth place in the conference at 10-12 overall on the season, 4-6 in the KJCCC.

Freshman outside hitter Katelyn Ruth led Cloud County with eight kills on the evening, followed by redshirt freshman Kylie McKinney, who added six kills and five digs, tying her with sophomore defensive specialist Bailey Lewis for the team-high.

Sophomore outside hitter Cara Flach finished with 19 assists for the T-Birds, as well.

Cloud County will look to bounce back when it returns home for a Monday matchup against Pratt Community College (7-20 overall, 1-8 KJCCC).
