Box Score Cloud County Volleyball traveled to Seward County Wednesday night for a battle for second place in the KJCCC west. The Saints entered the matchup one game up on the Thunderbirds. It was an evenly fought match, but The Saints came away with a 3-1 victory. Cloud falls to 10-7 on the season and 4-3 in Jayhawk West play. Seward County moves to 11-7 and 5-1 in Jayhawk West play.
Cloud jumped out in the first set and surprised the Saints with a first set victory. It was a back and forth battle in every set, but Cloud pulled away in the first set to win 25-18. The second set was much the same, but Seward ultimately edged the T-Birds 26-24. Seward would pull away late in the 3rd and win 25-18. A fourth set victory, 25-19 would seal the deal for the Saints.
Gaby da Silva had 16 kills to lead the T-Birds. Jaci Kolm had 41 assists and Haley Falk had 17 digs.
The T-Birds will head up to Garden City to complete their swing down south. The Broncbusters enter tonight's match with a record of 1-22.
