Box Score The Cloud County Community College Volleyball team hosted Barton County on Saturday afternoon in a Jayhawk West Conference matchup. The T-Birds won the match 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-18. Cloud County moves to 9-6 on the year 4-2 in Jayhawk West play. They currently sit in 3rd place in the Jayhawk West.
After cruising to a 1st set victory, Barton jumped out in the 2nd set and built a 17-13 lead at one point. The T-Birds stormed back and tied the game at 19, eventually taking the set 25-22. Cloud then completed the sweep with a 25-18 3rd set victory.
McKenna White led the T-Birds with 14 kills. White had missed the previous contest with injury, but was back in the lineup to lead the T-Birds past Barton. Gaby de Silva chipped in with 12 kills. Jaci Kolm had 33 assists and Haley Falk had 12 digs. Falk was recently honored by the KJCCC as conference player of the week for the week of September 7-13.
Next up for Cloud County is a difficult road stretch. The T-Birds head east to take on Highland CC in a non-conference matchup on Monday, before making the trip to Liberal for a conference matchup on Wednesday against Seward County. Cloud will then play at Garden City on Thursday. Game time for the Monday at Highland is set for 5:30pm.
