T-Birds Lose on Road at Cowley

| Box Score 2

It was a night the Thunderbirds hope to soon forget. The Cloud County men's basketball team went ice cold against the Tigers Wednesday night dropping the contest 71-38. Cloud is now 7-5 on the season and 0-2 in Jayhawk Conference play.

Cowley jumped out to a 17-2 lead to start the game and never looked back. Cloud tried to claw back into it narrowing the lead to 13 at 28-15, but that is as close as it would get, as the T-Birds struggled on the offensive end all night.

Cloud shot just 28% from the field and went 4 of 20 from three point range in the loss. Cowley also struggled from the field shooting just 39% on the night. The Tigers were able to force the Thunderbirds into 25 turnovers.

Cardarius Williams was the lone bright spot for Cloud County. The Sophomore turned in his second consecutive solid performance. Williams led the T-Birds with 13 points and also pulled down 7 rebounds. He went a perfect 6-6 from the field on the night. The Thunderbirds leading scorer, Demonte Ojinnaka was held scoreless on the night causing the offense to sputter.

Freshman Deon Lyle nailed two of Cloud's four three point shots on the night to score six points for the T-Birds.

The Thunderbird men will turn around and travel to Pratt on Saturday for a 4:00 pm meeting with the Beavers.  Pratt is 7-4 on the season and 0-1 in league play.
