Box Score

It was sophomore night at Arley Bryant Gymnasium as the Cloud County Thunderbird Volleyball team toppled the Garden City Broncbusters. The T-Birds swept the match by the scores of 28-26, 25-11, 25-18.

The victory improved Cloud to 21-11. 21 wins is a new school record in the rally scoring era. Rally scoring started in 2001. The 2005 Thunderbird Volleyball team won 20 games. Head Coach Molly Skocny has now won 40 games over the past two season.

The win ends the T-Birds four game skid. Cloud did it without sophomore leader Gaby da Silva who missed the match with an ankle injury. Da Silva is expected to return for postseason play.

Cloud County used a 6-1 run midway through the third set to pull away finish the Busters. Jocelyn Marten had a big third set with five of her nine kills on the night. The T-Birds won the third set and completed the sweep 25-18.

Laura Sudbeck had a big night in her final regular season game as a Thunderbird. Sudbeck had 12 kills to lead the T-Birds. Brooke Paslay followed up her career night against Seward with a 10 kill performance against the Busters. Jocelyn Marten and Cara Flach added 9 kills. Jaci Kolm had 35 assists on the night.

With the win the T-Birds have locked themselves in 3rd place in the Jayhawk West. They will host a home regional match next Wednesday November, 4th.
