Cloud Dominates Conquistadors in Three Sets

The Cloud County Community College Volleyball team wasted no time in disposing of the Dodge City Community College Conquistadors on Wednesday night. Cloud swept Dodge in the match with scores of 25-9, 25-9, and 25-14. 

The T-Birds appeared well rested after their long road trip the prior week. Dodge City, coming off a Monday night loss to Pratt, were not able to hang with the T-Birds and trailed in all three sets from start to finish. Gaby da Silva was dominate all night. She finished with 11 kills in 19 total attacks for a .526 kill % on the night. Da Silva leads the T-Birds with 198 kills on the season. Laura Sudbeck chipped in with seven kills. Jocelyn Marten, McKenna White, and Cara Flach all had six. Haley Falk had 12 digs on the night and Jacie Kolm had 30 assists for the T-Birds. 

With the victory, Cloud improves to 12-7 and 6-3 in the Jayhawk West. They have won four of their last five matches. The win boosted the T-Birds into 3rd place in the West division, trailing Hutchinson and Seward County. Hutchinson is 7-0 and Seward County is 8-1. The loss dropped the Conqs to 3-19 overall and 1-7 in conference play. 

Cloud County is back in action on October 3rd at Barton County. Barton enters with a 5-18 overall record. Cloud swept the Cougars at home back on September 19th.
