The Cloud County Community College wrestling team will host a tri-dual with Labette Community College and No. 8 Pratt Community College for Sophomore Night in Arley Bryant Gymnasium on Wednesday, February 4.
The dual schedule for Wednesday will go as follows:
4 pm – Pratt vs Labette
5:30 pm – Cloud County vs Labette
7 pm – Cloud County vs Pratt
Cloud County's duals will be streamed on the
T-Bird Sports Network.
The T-Birds will be celebrating Sophomore Day on Wednesday to recognize and honor this year's sophomore class. Prior to the start of the final dual, there will be a short ceremony for the eight sophomores. The following wrestlers will be celebrated:

Micah Cauthers,
Gael Garcia,
Omarion James,
Jacob Vasquez and
Trevor Vasquez.
So far this season, Cloud County owns a 12-6 record in dual matches and a 4-1 mark in KJCCC action. Last week, the T-Birds went 2-0 in a tri-dual against Barton Community College and Colby Community College. Cloud County began the night with a 29-29 win over Barton via tiebreaker criteria. Jacob Vasquez (165 lbs.) and Cauthers (174 lbs.) and freshman
Brayden Hill (285 lbs.) each recorded wins by fall. Freshman
Luke Potter (133 lbs.) added a 23-6 technical fall victory, while freshman
David Holguin (197 lbs.) took a win via forfeit. Cloud County kept the momentum rolling with a 29-17 win over Colby. Cauthers, Hill, Potter and Holguin each scored wins in the final dual of the night. Freshman
Dakota Gibson (141 lbs.) captured a 20-5 technical fall victory, while Bailey (149 lbs.) had a win by fall.
Hill is currently listed at No. 10 in the Open Mat NJCAA Rankings at 285 lbs.. This past weekend, Hill took sixth place at the Sioux City Open, hosted by Briar Cliff University. Brayden went 3-0 to open the event, recording a fall over Braden Petersen of Buena Vista in his first match. He then posted a 19-6 major decision over Jeremiah Chuol of Iowa Lakes Community College, before earning a win by fall over Rocco Sauer of Northwestern Iowa. In the semifinals, Hill faced Andrew Blackburn-Forst of North Dakota State University. Blackburn-Forst won by an 11-9 decision. Hill finished the tournament as a medical forfeit in his consolation semifinal match to Jaxson Hildebrand of Northwestern Iowa, and in his fifth place match against Lee Smith Jr of Indian Hills Community College.
