The Cloud County Community College wrestling team picked up its first dual victory of the season on Wednesday, November 12, earning a 33-17 win over Murray State College before falling to No. 4 Southeast Community College, 44-3, in a tri-dual in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Against Murray State, Cloud County claimed six of the ten contested bouts, including four by fall, one by decision and one by forfeit. Luke Potter (133 lbs.), Micah Cauthers (174 lbs.), David Holguin (197 lbs.) and Brayden Hill (285 lbs.) each earned victories by fall. Drew Sterrett (141 lbs.) added a 3-0 decision over Hudson Beckley, while Trevor Vasquez (184 lbs.) added a win by forfeit.

In the nightcap, Cloud County faced a strong Southeast Community College lineup that finished sixth as a team at last year's NJCAA National Championships and enters this season ranked No. 4 in the 2025-2026 NJCAA Wrestling Preseason Poll. Freshman Dakota Gibson provided the highlight of the match, earning an 11-5 decision over Keaton Kloke at 141 pounds for the T-Birds' three team points.
