The Cloud County Community College men's cross country team is set to compete in the 2025 Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference/NJCAA Region 6 Cross Country Championships on Friday, October 24 in Colby, Kansas. The men's 8K race is scheduled for 10 am, followed by the women's 5K race at 10:45 am.
The conference will honor the top 15 finishers as All-Region athletes, and the top seven runners in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference - West Division will receive recognition.
Cloud County enters the postseason ranked No. 24 in the 2025 NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll. It is the third appearance for the T-Birds in the top 25. The T-Birds will have strong representation with eight men's runners competing in the conference championships.
Cloud County last competed October 4 at the 37th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosted by the University of Arkansas. The Cloud County men's team placed eighth in the Prairie Fire Pepper 8K. Sophomore
Gelasa Degefa Abdisa led the way once again for the T-Birds, placing 19th out of 256 competitors with a time of 26:26.5. Sophomore
Abdelaziz Benbrahim was next to cross, finishing in 28th place with a time of 26:47.2. Freshman
Davis Miltner closely followed in 35th place at 26:58.8. Freshman
Jesus Baltazar's time of 29:14.5 was good for 114th. He was followed by sophomore
Cody Sharp who finished in 150th with a time of 29:57.2. Freshman
Zeb Schultze was 159th with a time of 30:18.4, while freshmen
Korbin Dykes and
Nicholas Johnson rounded out the scoring with times of 31:01.0 and 31:28.4, respectively.

Following the KJCCC/Region 6 Cross Country Championships, the T-Birds will head to the 2025 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships in Fort Dodge, Iowa on November 8.
