CONCORDIA, Kan. - Sporting an 18-4 overall record, the Cloud County Community College volleyball team remained inside the top-15 of the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Top-20 poll by coming in at number 13 in the poll which was released on Monday, October 7th.
Snagging a total of 54 points, the T-Birds swap spots with Scottsdale Community College in this week's poll as the Fighting Artichokes picked up 58 points to move ahead of CCCC. There was plenty of movement for the second straight week within the top-10, with the exception of the top two spots as Parkland (number one) and Coffeyville (number two) continue to have a stranglehold on the top spots in the country. Cowley would be one of the biggest movers of the wee, jumping from number 10 all the way to number four while Fort Scott Community College would hold steady at number six overall. The Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference also has Johnson County at seventh in this week's poll and Highland Community College at number 10 to put together a list of five of the top 10 in the country.
Two of the top-10 teams in the poll will make their way into Arley Bryant Gymansium this week, as the T-Birds will play host to both number two Coffeyville and number 10 Highland later this week. The match against two-time defending national champion Coffeyville will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday night while the match with the Scotties will be part of a triangular with Southeast Community College on Friday, October 11th.
