EL DORADO, Kansas — The adage "It's hard to beat a good team three times," held up Friday evening as the Cloud County Community College volleyball team — victorious in its first two meetings against Butler Community College — fell to the Grizzlies in straight sets (25-21, 25-18 and 25-22).

Cloud County (16-15 overall, 2-6 KJCCC East) earned 3-1 wins over Butler (15-10 overall, 8-4 KJCCC West) on August 22 and September 1, respectively.

The T-Birds were led by freshman right side hitter Haven Hamilton with nine kills, while sophomore outside hitter Giovanna Fundaro added six kills and freshman middle blocker Jessica Williams chipped in five kills.

Sophomore setter Cammie Miller and freshman setter Laken Schroeder each provided 13 assists.

Defensively, sophomore libero Britt Michaelis popped up a team-high 20 digs; her second consecutive match with 20 or more digs.

Cloud County will aim to bounce back Monday when it resumes KJCCC East play on the road against Fort Scott Community College. Start time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
