CONCORDIA, Kan. - For the second consecutive week and third time this season, Cloud County Community College sophomore Norberto Vieira has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for his performances during the week of October 1-8.
Vieira has been a wall in net as of late, helping Cloud County earn their third straight shutout and run their shutout streak to over 300 minutes and counting. In a key match for the T-Birds at Dodge City, Vieira would go the full distance and play 110 minutes in a 0-0 draw while making four saves to help CCCC earn one point in the KJCCC West Division race. Vieira would then play the first 71 minutes against Pratt, helping Cloud County pick up their seventh shutout of the year.
So far this season, Vieira has logged the fourth most minutes of any goalkeeper ranked in the NJCAA Division I top 50 in fewest goals allowed while ranking 18th in goals against average and 38th in total goals allowed.
