CONCORDIA, Kan. - Helping lead the Cloud County men's soccer team to a pair of wins last week, midfielder Djougher Oliveira and goalkeeper Norberto Vieira have been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Players of the Week.
The award marks the first time that Oliveira has earned KJCCC Player of the Week honors this year while Vieira picks up his second KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week honors in three weeks.
Oliveira led the T-Birds in points this past week, helping Cloud County get back on track offensively as CCCC combined to score 22 goals in games against Doane University JV and Hesston College. Scoring two goals in each game, Oliveira would add three total assists on the week as the four goals would come on just eight attempted shots.
Vieira logged his second shutout of the season, going the distance in an 8-0 win over Hesston College to help Cloud County sweep the season series against the Larks. Vieira would make three saves in the contest, lowering his goals against average for the season down to 0.93 (7 goals in 680 minutes).
