CRETE, Neb. – Taking on the Doane University JV team for the second time this season in their final regular-season match of the year, the Cloud County Community College men's soccer team would earn a 10-0 road decision in Crete, Nebraska on Tuesday, October 22nd.
Cloud County concludes the regular-season on a five-game winning streak and has won seven of their past eight matches to improve to 12-4-1 overall.
Scoring goals for the T-Birds in the match would be Igor Silva, Shaqon Bryan (two goals), Felipe D'Agostini (two goals), Gabe Porras, Diego Gonzalez, Keegan Goracke-Johnson, and Jelldrik Dallmann as CCCC would secure their second double-digit win over the Tigers this year. Cloud County would let off 55 shots in the contest, led by D'Agostini with 15 shots while Dallmann took seven shots. Splitting time in goal for the T-Birds would be Silva and Heath Williams, as Silva would make one save while Williams made three saves to help Cloud County earn their sixth shutout in the past seven matches.
Postseason play begins on Sunday, October 27th for Cloud County as the T-Birds will welcome Kansas City Kansas Community College to Harold M. Clark Stadium at 2 p.m. for the opening round of the NJCAA Region VI Playoffs. It will mark the third consecutive season that CCCC and KCKCC have met in the postseason, and fourth time in the past five seasons that the two have tangled in postseason action. In the last matchup, Cloud County took a 1-0 decision over the Blue Devils as the T-Birds have won two of the past three matchups in postseason play.
