MCPHERSON, Kansas — The Cloud County Community College men's soccer team closed out its regular season on Sunday with a 4-0 road win over McPherson College JV.

Saturday's showdown with McPherson College JV was a late addition to the schedule for the T-Birds (12-4-1 overall, 10-1-1 KJCCC West), giving them one final tune-up before the Region VI Playoffs start this Friday.

Cloud County handled the Bulldogs with ease as it finished with a 22-3 shot advantage and received goals from four different players.

Sophomore midfielder Lucas Lyra and freshman midfielder Vinicius Melo de Souza each scored their first goals of the season in the victory off the bench.

The T-Birds also received scores from freshman Jackson Brown, his third of the season, and the second goal of 2018 for sophomore forward Matheus de Sousa.

In net, sophomore goalkeeper Charles Albuquerque stopped all three shots he faced to improve to 12-3-1 on the season and notch his seventh shutout of the season.

Cloud County, the No. 2 seed out of the KJCCC West, will now turn its attention toward the Region VI Playoffs.

Weekend game results for Johnson County Community College and Kansas City Kansas Community College were not available as of Sunday night. The T-Birds will host whichever team finishes as the No. 3 seed out of the KJCCC East at 2 p.m. on Friday at Harold M. Clark Stadium.
