PRATT, Kansas — The Cloud County Community College men's soccer team scored five goals on a season-high 26 shots en route to picking up a 5-2 road win over Pratt Community College on Saturday.
Cloud County (9-4 overall, 8-1 KJCCC) extended its current winning streak to three games with the rout of the Beavers (5-7 overall, 3-6 KJCCC) and remained atop the KJCCC West standings with 24 points.
Sophomore midfielder Baptiste Bissessur led the charge Saturday as the team co-captain scored a pair of goals — his first multi-goal game of the season — to give him five goals on the year.
Bissessur got the game's scoring started with 15:49 remaining in the first half.
Freshman forward Caio Faro made it a 2-0 lead for Cloud County just 2:27 later to give the T-Birds a comfortable lead at the break.
In the second half, the T-Birds upped their lead to 3-0 when freshman Djougher Oliveira found fellow freshman Jean-Pierre Dasylva just outside the box for Dasylva's team-leading eight goal of the season.
Pratt and Cloud County then alternated goals, with the T-Birds' score coming from freshman midfielder Leonardo Velazco, before Bissessur put the game out of reach with his second goal coming in the 66th minute.
In net, sophomore goalkeeper Charles Albuquerque improved to 9-3 overall on the season and recorded two saves.
Cloud County will look to build off its 3-0 road swing when it returns home Wednesday to host Garden City Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
