CONCORDIA, Kansas — For the second consecutive week, Cloud County Community College men's soccer player Charles Albuquerque has been named the KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week.
The sophomore out of Sao Paulo, Brazil helped Cloud County (6-3 overall) to a pair of shutout wins over Pratt and Garden City. Albuquerque, who also won the NJCAA DI Goalkeeper of the Week award last week, added another shutout in Wednesday's road win over Northwest Kansas Technical College, giving him four shutouts during Cloud County's current five-game winning streak inside the KJCCC West. He has only allowed one goal to a conference opponent so far this season.
Fellow sophomore Feliphe Pasetto de Souza won the KJCCC Player of the Week award this week, as well, to give Cloud County a clean sweep of the conference weekly awards.
Since they won the conference awards, both Albuquerque and Pasetto de Souza will automatically be nominated for the NJCAA DI award.
Albuquerque and the rest of the T-Birds will be back in action Saturday evening when they host Barton Community College at 8 p.m. inside Harold M. Clark Stadium. The Cloud County women's game will kickoff at 6 p.m.
