CONCORDIA, Kansas — On Tuesday, the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference announced that Cloud County sophomore goalkeeper Charles Albuquerque was named the KJCCC Goalkeeper of the Week.
Albuquerque played a big role in the T-Birds getting off to a 2-0 start inside the KJCCC West as he stopped 10 of the 11 shots he saw last week in victories over Hesston College and Dodge City. He collected his first shutout of 2018 in the 5-0 win over Hesston, then polished off the week with a seven-save performance against the Conquistadors.
The native of Sao Paulo, Brazil currently boasts a 1.39 goals against average and 34 saves on the season.
Since he won the conference award, Albuquerque will now automatically be nominated for NJCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week.
