Start of Cloud County's playoff series against Allen County pushed back to Friday

CONCORDIA, Kansas — Cloud County Community College announced Tuesday that Game One of the baseball team's first-round Region VI Playoff matchup against Allen County Community College has been pushed back to Friday.

Game One was originally scheduled to be played at 2 p.m. Thursday in Concordia, but has been postponed due to the recent rain in the area, and with more rain expected in the forecast this week.

Currently, the two teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader on Friday, with each game being a nine-inning contest. Start times and the location for those games is still to be determined, weather permitting.

The best-of-three series will either be played as originally scheduled at Lee Doyen Field in Concordia, or at Bulldog Park in McPherson if Lee Doyen Field is deemed unplayable.

Game Three, if needed, would start at 1 p.m. Saturday. That game would be played at the same site that is ultimately selected for Game One and Game Two.

Cloud County Community College will release further updates on the status of this week's playoff series when more information becomes available.
